Airhole Ninja Masks were created by Kale Stephens and Chris Brown because they needed something to protect their faces from the cold and the sun. They came up with the
signature patterns and Kale used Grandma's sewing machine to sew the first prototypes together. They found that the traditional bandanas didn't have a functional shape, nor did they work well when wet. A big problem was breathing which made the bandanas wet.
