Founded in 1909 Portillo is the oldest ski resort in South America. It is recognisable now for being 'the ski resort with the big yellow hotel' which appears in all photos of the resort! It is a sizeable ski area with terrain for all ability levels and, with an 80% chance of sun throughout the season, make sure you bring suntan cream! Good snowfall record and high altitude.
