The ski area known as El Colorado is situated in the Metropolitan region, only 39 km east of Santiago, the capital of Chile. Along with La Parva and Valle Nevado, El Colorado makes up South America's Three Valleys, the largest ski area in South America. The village of El Colorado is based at 2430m and the skiing stretches up to an altitude of 3333 metres giving it a respectable vertical drop. The resort also has a snowmaking system to guarantee snow throughout the season.
