New legislation has been rushed through in Austria following the tragic death of a mother after she crashed into German politician Dieter Althaus last week. Althaus survived the accident because he was wearing a helmet. According to Dr Christian Kaulfersch, an A&E specialist, due to colder conditions, piste skiing has become faster and 'crashes at 30mph are like falling onto concrete from a second floor balcony.' As a result of this, the law now states that children under 14 must wear a helmet at all times.
