Scottish stalwart ski resort Glencoe has been put up for sale as it requires new investments to fund plans for a facelift. Following the fantastic snowfall throughout February, the resort has celebrated one of its most successful seasons in years, but owners feel that new developments need to be made to keep it up to date with the times. Explains David Campbell, who co-owns Glencoe, which is Scotland's oldest ski resort: 'The business is operating smoothly and there are good people now in all positions, but what is needed is a new group of investors or owners. With ambition and drive, they can take the resort forward over the next decade. The building blocks are all in place.' Given the damning current climate however, this feat may not be as easy as may have been a couple of years ago. New proposals for the resort's nip and tuck include a gondola and mountain bike track. Investors proposals are to be lodged by 31st March 2009.
