Britain's number one snowboarder Zoe Gillings was disappointed with her performance at the FIS World Snowboarding cross championships in Gangwon, Korea on the 18th January, after triumph at Bad Gastein a week ago in the European leg with a 3rd on the podium. She finished a frustrating 11th in Korea after passing her two main rivals, Maelle Ricker of Canada and Olivia Nobbs of Switzerland part way through the race. Ricker then fought back, making contact with Gillings and forcing a crash which put the Brit out of the race and far from the medals. Gillings remains determined for the prestigious Winter X-games at Aspen which are to be held from 22nd to 25th of January.
