Grandvalira ski resort has really amped up the bling for the season with the opening of the first Igloo Hotel to grace the slopes of the Pyrenees. Spanning the dizzy heights of 2,350m in altitude and crafted entirely of snow, the Iglu-Hotel Granvalira is the sixth European resort to have a Swiss crafted Iglu Dorf hotel, where the average residential temperature is a not-so-snugglesome 0 degrees. Guests are recommended to come prepared with warm clothes but also bikinis for a well deserved visit to the decidedly toastier hot tubs within the self-contained igloo-village. The igloo mecca is located in the Grau Roig area and also features an ice bar and a fondue restaurant. The recommended list of things to pack may deter some less hardy visitors, it includes your own towels, long underwear and warm boots. The resort also does not accept credit cards so bring a wad and expect to have parted with it by the end of the weekend....
