Britain's top ski racer Chemmy Alcott failed to improve on previous slalom performance in the super-G at Cortina D'Ampezzo on Monday, but made a personal progression in her first race back after fracturing her ankle in November. She was pleased with 15th place in the giant slalom, enjoying a perfect comeback week, good skiing, great attitude and good focus. She admitted that it was 'tough to come back under the scrutiny of everyone, with my first downhill run on television since the fracture. My goal was not time specific, it was how my ankle felt, so I was able to build on it through the weekend.' As she couldn't even walk 3 weeks ago, overall 33rd place was steady but sure progress for the 25yr old. Let's hope that this continues for her appearance at the World Championships in Val D'Isere on 3rd-5th February.
