New Zealand resort Cardrona is fully prepared for the 2009 season that will kick off for them in May, with a new FIS certified trail that will run into the Arcadia Basin and be suitable for slalom and grand slalom races. Visitors will be treated to a brand new 22ft half pipe and 100% snowmaking coverage following last year's extension into the Captain's Basin region. Bridget Legnavsky, Cardrona's Snowsports Manager, is anticipating their best season yet. 'It's a great step forwards for the resort, we have been looking into this area for some time and now having snowmaking and a new trail, which will challenge advanced skiers and riders as well as help free up other areas of the mountain which are currently being used for training.'
