For beginners, novices, youth and entire families, The Remarkables is the natural choice. Its high alpine location, north facing sunny aspect, wide open bowls, fantastic terrain parks, great snow and friendly, relaxed nature makes it a true alpine experience for all ages. And free transport departing from the Snow Centre for all those who buy a Remarkables full day or multiday lift pass or combo pack makes this alpine playground more accessible than ever.

Extensive renovations to the ground level of the base building means visitors will enjoy bigger and better children's facilities and more efficient access to on-mountain services this season.

The fully licensed Skiwiland Early Learning Centre now accommodates children aged from three months to five years. New and improved facilities complement the dedicated beginners area and Snowports School. From Skiwiland young skiers and riders graduate to a variety of programmes suited to all ages and stages up to 17 years. Children aged ten and under get free day lift passes every day of the season.

A gently sloping beginners' area in full view of the base building is equipped with three surface conveyor lifts providing awesome first time fun. Alta Green chairlift offers access to novice trails and terrain parks, while Sugar Bowl chair opens to a wide variety of intermediate trails and terrain parks that cater for freestylers from intermediate to expert ability. Shadow Basin Chair serves a swath of terrain for the advanced and expert skier or rider.

Lift served and hike-able big mountain terrain offers challenging excitement for free skiers and riders, completing the versatility of this high alpine park.

The longest run at The Remarkables is the 1.5 km Homeward Run, which has a vertical drop of 350 metres and is widely considered New Zealand's best backcountry in-bounds ski experience.

Famous for its terrain parks, The Remarkables has a progressive network of parks including the beginner/novice park, a world-class advanced terrain park and the Southern Hemisphere's first Stash, an evolutionary, revolutionary Burton signature park. A dedicated park team maintains the parks whilst advanced snow making systems and a fleet of Pisten Bully snow groomers (including two brand new machines) work to keep terrain consistently shaped and groomed to a high quality.

2009 promises an exciting line up of snowboard and freestyle competitions in the parks including the Remarkables Rampage, The Remarks Slopestyle Series, and the Parklife Youth Mini Shred - all extremely popular events for freestylers of all ages.

Non-skiers/riders, or those wanting a different version of fun will love the sensation of sliding down a purpose built trail in a tube at the Ozone Tubing Park - no previous experience required.

Only 45 minutes from Queenstown, The Remarkables is renowned for being 'the friendly mountain' - tunes in the parks, live bands and DJs on the sunny deck combine to create a relaxed party atmosphere.
